Keyboardist/vocalist Ivan Neville formed Dumpstaphunk in 2003 as a one-off project for New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. A decade later, the New Orleans band has blossomed into his primary project. Dumpstaphunk will officially mark their 10th anniversary with a special show at New Orleans’ Tipitina’s on May 5. Skerik and Trey Anastasio horn players Jennifer Hartswick and Natalie Cressman will sit in during the night. Pimps of Joytime and DJ Quickie Mart will open the night.

Dumpstaphunk will play several shows in New Orleans during JazzFest, including an April 27 gig at the Fairgrounds. The band will make their new studio album Dirty Word available at the show. The group will perform at Novato, CA’s Hopmonk Tavern on April 3. TEN feat. Thomas Pridgen (The Mars Volta), Eric McFadden (George Clinton) and Norwood Fisher (Fishbone) will open.
