Flannel Church has morphed into King Lincoln. The Atlanta, Ga-based band features Col. Bruce Hampton’s the Pharaoh Gummitt drummer Duane Trucks, bassist Kevin Scott and guitarist Lawson Williams as well as guitarist/soul singer Marshall Ruffin. The same core lineup performed at Live Oak, FL’s Bear Creek Music Festival this past number.

After a year of touring under the name Flannel Church with rotating guitarists like Shane Pruitt, Gregory Hodges, AJ Ghent and Ian Newberry—as well as with frequent appearances by Roosevelt Collier—the outfit will move forward in 2013 with a new name. They have also released a self-titled EP. As previously reported,
King Lincoln will perform at Equifunk this August.
