Dave Matthews Band kicked off their 2013 tour with a performance at Pelham, AL’s Oak Mountain Amphitheatre on Saturday. During the gig, the group debuted their full-band take on John Denver’s “Take Me to Tomorrow.” Matthews recorded the number as a solo tune for the new ATO John Denver tribute The Music Is You but only played the song as a solo piece or with Tim Reynolds in 2012.

Last night, their run continued with a stop at Atlanta, GA’s Centennial Olympic Park as part of the Capital One Jam Fest. The performance was tied to the NCAA Men’s Final Four and also featured Sting and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Though Sting did not sit in with Dave Matthews Band, they group nodded to his influence on the band by teasing The Police’s “Message in a Bottle” during “Crush.” DMB will perform at Southaven, MS’s Snowden Grove Amphitheater on April 27.
