Kool & The Gang, ZZ Top and Uncle Kracker will split opening duties for Kid Rock this summer. The eclectic mix of bands will support Kid Rock and his Twisted Brown Trucker Band at amphitheaters across the country throughout the summer months.

As a nod to his fans, Kid Rock will make tickets in all sections—reserved seats and lawn—available at a special $20 price point, using paperless tickets where possible. He will also lower the prices on everything from parking to beer to merchandise for every show in every city during his upcoming tour.

In a strange mix of corporate sponsorship and grassroots promotion, Kid Rock will offer all-in $20 tickets, including no fees or no parking charges, at participating Walmart locations. He will also reserve the first two rows for every show as free upgrades for lucky fans who will be selected at random. Special $4 beers, value food packages, cheaper parking, free samples of Jimmy John’s sandwiches, free post-show coffee and $20 tour t-shirts will be available at most shows. As an additional method to combat scalping, Kid Rock will release 1,000 tickets from each show directly as Platinum Tickets via LiveNation.com.

“Everyone knows the economy is still hurting people across the country, but I didn’t want that to be a reason why everyone couldn’t get out and enjoy themselves on a summer night,” Kid Rock said in a statement. “So we’re going to throw the biggest and best party ever, with prices across the board that are reasonable and transparent. No hidden fees, no gimmicks. We’re not sparing any expense on this tour, we’re going over the top as always, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to ask the fans to pay more. If this works we’re going to play to packed houses of fans who appreciate what we’re doing. If it doesn’t, might be a long summer. But someone has to go out there and fight these high prices and change things up, and I’m lucky enough that I can afford to take a pay cut. $20. Best night ever.”

Platinum Tickets are considered market-priced tickets. As his team explains, “This removes the money making opportunity from scalpers by pricing these select seats at market value. Tickets will be sold directly to fans so not to run the risk of having to purchase from unauthorized third parties. So, yes. Kid Rock is scalping his own tickets so other people can’t, which also enables him to keep the ticket prices at $20 while putting on an extravagant production.”

Kid Rock will tour in support of his 10th album, Rebel Soul, and will perform a special set on the outdoor stage at Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight on ABC.
