Ivan Neville, Irma Thomas, Jon Cleary to Celebrate 15 Years of American Routes
American Routes, a weekly public radio show devoted to American music and southern culture, will be celebrating its 15th anniversary with a concert and dance at the Rock ‘n’ Bowl in New Orleans on Friday, April 19. Pianist Jon Cleary and his band will anchor the concert, which will also feature appearances by New Orleans staples the Tremé Brass Band, the Lost Bayou Ramblers, Irma Thomas, Robert “Barefootin’” Parker, Walter “Wolfman” Washington and Ivan Neville. The event will serve as a fundraiser for the program. American Routes‘ host, Nick Spitzer, will be presenting the event, which will be recorded for a later broadcast on July 4.
