The Flaming Lips’ Steven Drozd will premiere his experimental project, The Mutating Cell Ensemble, on Saturday, April 13 in Oklahoma City, OK. The free, one-time only performance will feature more than a dozen students from the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma as part of the school’s annual ACM@UCO Rocks Bricktown music festival.

Lips’ guitarist/keyboardist Derek Brown will also be featured during the show. The Flaming Lips were recently named the winners of the first annual Grulke Prize for Career Act for their success at SXSW. The group will donate the award’s cash donation to the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma.
