BRIC, producers of New York’s Celebrate Brooklyn! arts series, have confirmed the lineup for their annual series at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 1. Dubbed Celebrate Brooklyn! Bridge Dance, the free shows will be on three consecutive Thursday evenings, May 9, 16 & 23. They will serve as a “bridge” to Celebrate Brooklyn’s 35th anniversary season at the Prospect Park Bandshell, which starts in June.

Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Pedrito Martínez and Zapp Band are among the acts slated to perform. The free dance parties will begin at 7:00 PM each night and end by 10:00 PM. Pier 1 can be entered at the foot of Old Fulton Street at the Brooklyn waterfront or from the new Squibb Park Bridge. A variety of food trucks will be on hand, many with Celebrate Brooklyn! Bridge Dance Party specials based on the genre of music for each evening. These vendors include Morris Grilled Cheese, Mexico Blvd., Dub Pies, Nuchas and Kimchi Taco.
