Wilco guitarist Nels Cline will showcase his experimental side during a special show later this month. On April 22, the guitarist will perform at Brooklyn, NY’s Shapeshifter Lab at 10PM. The evening is billed as A Nels Cline Project and will focus on his improv-oriented work.

Cline made the New York rounds in March. While in town for a few gigs, the Wilco member joined The Allman Brothers Band onstage for “Smokestack Lightnin’” at the Beacon Theater on March 16. In a more unexpected move, Cline and Warren Haynes made their way over to B.B. Kings Blues Club after the Beacon show to sit in with Col. Bruce Hampton. Cline played Duane Allman’s Goldtop Les Paul during the B.B. Kings gig.
