Amy Helm has published an open letter of “Gratitude” on her website. The page gives thanks and recognition to friends, fans, musicians and organizers around the world who have supported the Levon Helm Studios “Keep It Goin’” initiative and others in Levon’s name since he passed a year ago this Friday. The page has videos and photos from the events, and visitors are encouraged to share stories, thoughts, feelings and remembrances. Amy Helm writes:

Dear Friends,
Thank you for these incredible musical tributes that have raised money in my father’s name for such amazing charities and organizations around the world.
It is so deeply moving to see my father’s memory honored in this way. These grassroots efforts beautifully reflect what he stood for, believed in, and worked hard to achieve in his life.
To all the music lovers who came to support these events, and all the musicians, crew members, and organizers who made them happen, you have my sincerest gratitude.

The website also features a pay-what-you-want download of Amy’s recently recorded and unreleased version of The Band’s classic “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,” featuring Larry Campbell, Teresa Williams, Byron Isaacs, Elizabeth Mitchell, Daniel LIttleton, Fiona McBain, Glen Patscha, Dirk Powell and many others. The proceeds will benefit the “Keep it Goin’” campaign and music programs for children at local schools in the Woodstock, NY community. Amy Helm is currently finishing up her solo debut record and touring with her own band, Amy Helm & The Handsome Strangers, with an album due for release this fall.
