Karl Denson has announced a schedule of appearances surrounding this year’s New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival that lasts from April 25 to May 4. Denson will perform with his regular bands The Greyboy Allstars and Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and also make a few special appearances. On May 2 and 4, Denson’s Tiny Universe will present a tribute to the late Ray Charles. Denson’s stint at Jazz Fest will start with a show with recent collaborators Slightly Stoopid as a tribute to the Beastie Boys. Other announced appearances include performances with Stanton Moore, Zach Deputy, Will Blades, the Dirty Dozen Horns, and more. Denson is also likely to show up for some unannounced sit-ins.

May 3—Karl D with the Dirty Dozen Horns, Robert Walter, Eddie Roberts, Jennifer Hartswick, Nicki Gillespie and more at Mardi Gras World (9pm)
May 4—Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe presents a funky tribute to Ray Charles with Jon Cleary, Zach Deputy, the Cosmic Horns at Tipitinas (late night)
