Even Bill Clinton Couldn’t Get Led Zeppelin to Reunite

Bill Clinton tried—and failed—to convince Led Zeppelin to reunite for last December’s massive 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy benefit concert at Madison Square Garden. A CBS 60 Minutes webcast reported that the former President met with Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones in Washington, DC while the band was in town to receive their Kennedy Center Honors. Despite Clinton’s overture, the the Zeppelin guys still declined to play the event, which featured other legendary acts like The Who, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Roger Waters, a (sort of) reunited Nirvana and more.

As previously reported, Plant has hinted at a potential Led Zeppelin reunion for 2014. However, nothing is even close to certain at this point.

For me personally,i never think of a reuion even though i know they were the best of their time and for generations to follow. The main reason being the 500$ tix this band will charge.Lets face it, u know they will get it too.The average income fan has no chance at those prices, same as The Stones.Rattle that bling!

I agree with cosmicbein the average person would have been priced out and i would really want to go but at those prices i couldn’t have, it was nice to see the Stones have some trouble selling tix’s in LA and had to drop some tix prices

Average income people are being priced out of every live event there is. From PSLs for Giants and Jets to the insane Yankee tix. Sucks, especially for the family man.

Led Zeppelin- the original cover band. Even DSO is more original.
