The New Mastersounds were joined by a number of guests as they closed out night one of the Purple Hatter’s Ball at the Spirit of Suwannee Park Music Park in Live Oak, FL on Friday. The band was joined by Will Holland aka Quantic on guitar for “Summer Camp” and “Fuji,” while Roosevelt Collier sat in on pedal steel for “T. Bad” and “Yo Momma.” Erick “Jesus” Coomes then played bass on “Thirty Three.” However the highlight of the evening came toward the end of the set, as Big E of Catfish Alliance took the stage with a horn section featuring Clay Watson (trombone), Sergio Valdes (trumpet) and Chris Rothenberg (trombone) for a raucous cover of Kool and The Gang’s “Jungle Boogie.”

The New Mastersounds recently stopped by our office for an interview, as well as a rooftop performance.
