The New Seth Yacovone Band to Perform First Gig in June

For a few years, Burlington, VT guitarist Seth Yacovone seemed poised to burst onto the national scene. He sat in with Phish, Trey Anastasio toyed with adding him to his solo group and Seth Yacovone Band continued to tour the country. Then, Yacovone broke up his trio and returned to his local Vermont club circuit.

However, as reported in the new issue of Relix, the guitarist plans to return to the touring world. He has put together a new version of the Seth Yacovone Band—featuring Alex Budney (bass) and Steve Hadeka (drums)—and plans to recommit himself to the trio format. The new Seth Yacovone will make their public debut at Morrisville, VT’s Moog’s Place on June 1. The band will offer two sets of “original bluesy hard rock improv power trio music.” They plan to debut a slew of new material at the gig.

*WARNING: If you DON’T LIKE watching a blues based POWER TRIO in the vein of HENDRIX w/ a passionate prodigy singer/songwriter SCHRALP a guitar with his Bear hands and Wail like the Wild Vermont Catamount he is on stage, than this may be the wrong band for you. Keep on movin Jack Johnson/John Mayer fans nothin to see here.

Hey, no reason to drag Jack Johnson into the mud. I’ll admit to putting on some Jack Johnson while chillin’ with a beer on the back porch.

used to see him at harper’s ferry in boston when i lived there and in VT. one of the nicest, most humble guys you’ll ever meet and one of the best guitarists i’ve ever heard and i’m big on django, hendrix, wes montgomery, both zappas, trey, jimmy herring, warren haynes, etc so it’s not like i listen to shitty guitarists. seth is a fucking monster fucking guitarist. i’ll take a trip from Michigan to c him in a heartbeat
