Sharon Jones Backs Out of GoogaMooga, Replaced by Kool and The Gang

Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings have backed out of this weekend’s GoogaMooga festival due to an urgent family matter. The group was set to headline the event’s Nethermead Stage at 6:45 on Sunday, but that slot will now be filled by Kool & The Gang. As previously reported, this year’s GoogaMooga will feature performances by Matt & Kim, Father John Misty, De La Soul, Le Fields and the Expressions and more. The event will kick off tomorrow afternoon with pre-party featuring The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Flaming Lips and the Darkness.

Great GoogaMooga will also feature a number of food and drink options. You can find more informations on the schedule and participating vendors here.

Tough break for Googa Mooga. Starting to wonder if this fest is jinxed. I hope its an awesome weekend I love the concept.

Jinxed? They would deserve it for taking this much park space in the spring. I wish these idiots would just fuck off and go somewhere far away.

To Togo and all those opposed to the event… I hope you donate to the Prospect Park Alliance every year? If they had more money, they would not need to rent out the park. Central Park has WAY more private money and that is what is needed to run a public park these days, sadly.
