Dave Grohl Joins Rolling Stones for "Bitch"

Dave Grohl joined The Rolling Stones last night for a take on the Sticky Fingers track “Bitch” during their show at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. The show also featured (now predictable) appearances by Mick Taylor for “Midnight Rambler” and “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” as well as an encore rendition of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” featuring the USC Thornton Chamber Singers.

Last night’s concert was not Grohl’s first Rolling Stones moment. The Foo Fighters frontman took the stage with Mick Jagger during last year’s Saturday Night Live season finale for a medley of “19th Nervous Breakdown” and “It’s Only Rock n’ Roll (But I Like It).”

The Rolling Stones will perform again tomorrow night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

I was there, and Bitch was a highlight of the night. Grohl is so full of energy and rocked out so hard. He ripped a great solo on a baby blue Gibson SG while Keith and Ronnie were on Les Pauls. The Rolling Stones with three Gibsons makes a big fat glorious noise! Probably the best sit in of the tour so far. The Stones were seriously in the groove playing better than I’ve seen them all through the 90s. Only disappointment was how little time Mick Taylor was on the stage. I could’ve used at least two or three more songs from him (Sway, Can’t You Hear Me Knockin’ would’ve killed). I’d have been thrilled if he played the whole night! When the Stones took their final bow without any of the sidemen (they took one bow with all the musicians and then the side players left) Mick Taylor was out there with them, as he should be. Just can’t figure out why he’s not playing more.

Sorry, not an SG by Grohl and not a Les Paul by Ronnie, (hmmm. hazy memory?) but a mighty guitar sound nonetheless!

WIth their disgusting ticket prices, no one should be excited about any of this $tones stuff. Shameless gouging. Thumbs way down.
