Disco Biscuits bassist Marc Brownstein has confirmed that he will play three shows in Colorado this July. The first show he has confirmed is a rare Mountain Region Electron date on July 17. The show will feature the new Electron lineup of Brownstein, keyboardist Aron Magner (Disco Biscuits), guitarist Tom Hamilton (Brothers Past/American Babies) and drummer Mike Greenfield (Lotus). Though his other shows not been confirmed, Brownstein promises that each night will feature a different lineup. In addition to the Biscuits, Brownstein’s current projects include Conspirator, Sucker Punch and the Gigantic Underground Conspiracy.

The bassist has also commented on the death of Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek. In a post he said, “In seventh grade I started my career on bass playing in a Doors cover band called Fearful Symmetry. I learned all of those left hand lines first on keyboard and then eventually on bass. When I was in high school I had the pleasure of going to Ray Manzarek’s home studio in Beverly Hills and jamming out with his son Pablo. It was an honor I’ll never forget. RIP Ray, you were a HUGE inspiration of mine.”
