Last night, The Rolling Stones’ 50 & Counting Tour continued with the legendary rock band’s second show at Los Angeles, CA’s Staples Center. Instead of featuring a special guest, as they have at every one of their full-length arena shows this year, the Stones spotlighted former guitarist Mick Taylor. The onetime Stone—who was a member of the band from 1969–74—has sat in on “Midnight Rambler” during all of the Stones’ full-scale anniversary shows since December. After being regulated to one song per show, Taylor joined his former band for their traditional show-closing “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” at San Jose, CA’s HP Pavilion on May 8. He has joined the group on “Satisfaction” every night since that gig.

Last night, Taylor emerged early in the night to help the Stones through their first take on the Sticky Fingers classic “Sway” since June 28, 2007. He returned a few songs later for the Stones’ first version of another Sticky Fingers track, “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking,” since August 26, 2007. Then, he reappeared on both “Midnight Rambler” and “Satisfaction.” The Stones also brought out the USC Thornton Chamber Singers to sing the introduction to “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” and busted out the Some Girls tune “Far Away Eyes” for the first time since November 8, 2006. According to the band’s Facebook page, the Stones played “Far Away Eyes” in honor being close to Bakersfield, CA, while “Sway” was voted into the set by members the group’s online fan community.
