Trey Anastasio Band made their first appearance at Cumberland, MD’s annual DelFest this past weekend. During his set, the guitarist brought out Del McCoury and members of Del McCoury Band to play of two songs associated with the bluegrass great, “I’m Blue, I’m Lonesome” and “Beauty of My Dreams.”

McCoury—who has a long history performing with Phish dating back to the Camp Oswego festival in 1999—joined Trey Anastasio Band for both tunes at Nashville, TN’s Ryman Auditorium on February 25, 2010.

Later in the night, Del McCoury Band’s Ronnie McCoury, Jason Carter and Rob McCoury returned to play with Trey Anastasio Band on “Heavy Things” and Led Zeppelin’s “Black Dog” during their encore. Ronnie McCoury was something of DelFest’s Sit in MVP, performing with several bands throughout the weekend.
