San Jose Jazz Summer Fest: Pres Hall Jazz Band, Rebirth Brass Band, Charlie Hunter & Scott Amendola Duo and More

Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Pink Martini, Arturo O’Farrill & the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, Charlie Hunter & Scott Amendola Duo, Rebirth Brass Band, Javon Jackson with Les McCann, Grace Kelly, Le Jazz Hot, The Cookers, The California Honeydrops and many more will be at the 24th annual San Jose Jazz Summer Fest at Plaza de C├ęsar Chavez Park in San Jose, CA August 9-11.

New attractions at Summer Fest 2013 includes Jazz+ performances, which brings select main stage acts to the intimate San Jose Repertory Theatre, Blackbird Tavern, Theatre on San Pedro Square, and The Pagoda from August 9 – 11 at 9 pm. There will also be talent at the San Jose Rep on August 10 & 11 from 12 pm – 8 pm. Jazz+ shows will be ticketed separately from the main festival entrance fees, a festival pass is not required for entrance, and Jazz+ tickets are now on sale.

The 2013 Jazz Summer Fest will also feature a brand new Big Easy Stage, as well as the YP Blues Stage. The Kaiser Permanente Salsa Stage will have an emphasis on music from three diverse international salsa scenes, including New York (Friday), Puerto Rico (Saturday), and Cuba (Sunday). In addition, DRUM! Magazines’s special DRUM! Night will include clinic performances by accomplished drummers like Cad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Cindy Blackman-Santana (Lenny Kravitz/Santana) and Jason Bittner (Shadows Fall/Anthrax).

Three-day passes to the festival are now on sale for $45, with single-day tickets available for $20.
