Soulive/Lettuce guitarist Eric Krasno will play bass with Tedeschi Trucks Band this summer. Though known primarily as a guitarist, Krasno’s first instrument was actual bass, and he supplies the low end in the Nigel Hall Band. Tedeschi Trucks Band have rotated bassists since Oteil Burbridge left the group last year.

Krasno will play bass with Tedeschi Trucks Band at all their shows through the end of their co-headlining tour with The Black Crowes through August 15. Since Kraz regularly sits in with Tedeschi Trucks Band/Black Crowes opening act London Souls, fans can likely expect some other collaborations during the run.

However, Krasno will miss TTB’s shows from July 19-24 due to previous commitments. Tim Lefebvre, who has worked with everyone from John Mayer to Wayne Krantz, will play bass on those dates. Krasno’s new gig will force him to miss Lettuce’s appearance at the Fuji Rock on July 26. An official statement from Lettuce’s camp reads, “Eric is and will always be a member of Lettuce, but will not be at all the dates as has been the case for much of the year based on his availability.”

“I’m excited to be a part of this amazing band for the summer tour,” says Krasno. “I’ve worked with many of the TTB members in different lineups but I look forward to holding down the low end and being the bass player this time around!”
