Mickey Hart, the only Jewish member of the Grateful Dead, will perform in Israel this August. Along with his Mickey Hart Band, Hart will perform in Jerusalem on August 22 as part of the four-day Jerusalem Sacred Music Festival. The festival runs from August 20-23 as part of this summer’s Jerusalem Season of Culture.

According to the Jerusalem Post,the festival will also feature Afropop singer Salif Keita, Malian duo Amadou & Mariam and Tractor’s Revenge. The article says “they will perform at locations which according to the organizers are ‘filled with spiritual and religious meaning,’ including the Tower of David Museum, Tzidkiyahu’s Cave and the YMCA.”

The version of Mickey Hart Band slated to perform in Israel consists of Sikiru Adepoju, Tony Award winning vocalist Crystal Monee Hall, singer and multi-instrumentalist Joe Bagale, drummer Greg Schutte, guitarist Gawain Matthews, bassist Adam Theis, and keyboardist/sound engineer Jonah Sharp.
