Jack White Saves Detroit Music Venue with (Previously) Anonymous Donation

Jack White made a hefty donation to help save the Detroit Masonic Temple, a popular venue in the Michigan city. Last month, the venue received an anonymous donation of $142,000 in order pay off its outstanding tax bill. Turns out the donor was Jack White, who has performed at the Temple a number of times, and whose mother was an usher there when he was a child.

Roger Sobran, the Temple’s president, has announced that the venue’s theater will be renamed the Jack White Theater in his honor.

Named the theater after him? That should REALLY make his already huge ego and head explode! Hmm, Actually that’s not a bad thing!

Yes he has a huge ego and seems to be a bit of a head case but that it still a really nice thing he did.

Jack White Theater? Doesn’t have a ring to it…

Jack, that’s a shame that you took an opportunity to talk smack about Jack after he just made a 142,000 pledge to help a music venue and a community. Jaded?

Jack White is an incredible person. The fact that he would help out a town that was part of his musical influence is awesome.
