Trey Anastasio has revealed that Phish will be playing some songs from his musical Hands on a Hardbody on their upcoming tour. The Associated Press reports that Anastasio confirmed this development on the red carpet of last night’s Tony Awards. As previously reported, Anastasio and co-composer Amanda Green were nominated for a Tony for Best Original Score (Music And/Or Lyrics) Written For The Theatre.

While Anastasio came back from the awards show empty handed, it appears that he’s getting some new-found respect from his children, who are big musical theater fans. Anastasio told an AP reporter that his teenage daughters “were completely unimpressed with the rock thing. Not impressed at all. This was huge for them.”

Anastasio also stated that he was not sure which songs from the musical would find their way into Phish’s sets. Phish has already performed two songs from the musical, “Burn That Bridge” and “My Problem Right There.”
