Mumford & Sons to Postpone Shows, Bonnaroo Still On

Mumford & Sons have decided to postpone a few shows this week after bassist Ted Dwane discovered a blood clot on his brain. The blood clot will require immediate surgery. The group’s postponed concerts include shows in Dallas (6/11), Woodlands, TX (6/12) and New Orleans (6/13). The band will still headline Manchester, TN’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival this Saturday.

A statement from the band reads:

Our friend and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment. The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation. Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery.

Sadly we have to postpone three upcoming headlining shows planned for this week in Dallas on Tuesday 6/11, Woodlands on Wednesday 6/12, and New Orleans on Thursday 6/13. All dates will be rescheduled and will be announced as soon as we can; all tickets for this week’s events will be honoured at their rescheduled dates. We have no plans to cancel or postpone any other appearances along this current tour.

We’re all wishing Ted a speedy recovery.

Bonnaroo is slated to kick off this Thursday.

Hate to hear something scary like that, and wish him well. That said…..would love for them to be replaced at Bonnaroo with anyone. If not, ZzzzzZzzzz on a Saturday night on the farm.

when you read your own comment do you see how cruel you sound? whether you are a fan or not you are a human being correct? there are many bands playing at your festival that you can go see but to ask for the cancellation of a band due to what sounds like serious medical circumstances is pretty lame. good luck with your fest.
