The Beach Boys will release a career-spanning box set on August 27 via Capitol. Made In California will be a six-CD, seven-and-a-half hour collection that will include 60 original songs, demos, alternate takes and previously unreleased live performances from concerts, radio and television appearances. The box set will be packaged to resemble a high school yearbook and will also have photos, artwork, inscriptions from the band members and a personal essay that Brian Wilson wrote in high school. Rare, unreleased tracks like “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling,” “Goin’ to the Beach” and “Soul Searchin’” will be in the collection, along with some BBC live recordings from 1964.

As previously reported, Brian Wilson is currently working on a solo album that will feature guest appearances by Jeff Beck, as well as original Beach Boys Al Jardine and David Marks. Wilson, Jardine and Marks reunited with Mike Love for a well-received tour last year, though Love is currently touring under the Beach Boys moniker without them.
