Kraftwerk co-founder Ralf Hütter has confirmed that the group is working on their ninth album. The German electronic music pioneer told The Guardian that the band could now concentrate on the new record after wrapping up a series of multi-night residencies in cities around the world. The new album will be their first since 2003’s Tour de France Soundtracks. It will also be the first Kraftwerk album to be created without the group’s other founding member, Florian Schneider, who left the band in 2008.

While no one has a clue when the new release might be available, fan across Europe will have the chance to see Kraftwerk at one of many festival appearances over the next few months.
