Conor Oberst made a surprise appearance at The Felice Brothers’ show at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, NJ on Friday night. The singer-songwriter played an unannounced opening set, during which the Felices backed him on “Souled Out!,” “Train Under Water” and “Lua.” Oberst then returned the favor by sitting in with the band for “Wonderful Life,” “Frankie’s Gun” and a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Glory Days.”

The Felice Brothers’ show was one of the last gigs scheduled to take place at Maxwell’s. The iconic venue plans to shut its doors at the end of July.
