Phish returned to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY for the second night of their run at the venue on Saturday. The band kicked off the first set with the rare “Crowd Control” before going into a crowd pleasing “Chalk Dust Torture.” Other highlights of the set included Son Seals’ “Funky Bitch” and a stellar “Split Open and Melt” to close it out. The latter song eventually unfolded into an extended jam and guitar/drum duel which benefited from Jon Fishman’s new stage positioning near Trey Anastasio

The second set got going with a “Backwards Down the Number Line” that turned into a short “Tweezer” before transitioning into “Sand.” A highly improvised “Carini” became “Architect,” a song from Anastasio’s 2012 album Traveler, marking the first time that the Vermont quartet had played the tune. The set then wrapped up as “Wilson” segued into a nicely jammed out take on Stevie Wonder’s “Boogie On Reggae Woman” before ending with “Possum.” A quick encore break was then followed by “Show of Life” and, finally, “Tweezer Reprise.”
