Stanley Jordan Joins Umphrey’s McGee For Some Covers and More

It looks like Stanley Jordan had a big weekend. As previously reported, the guitarist sat in with Dave Matthews Band on Friday and Saturday night at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in Elkhorn, WI.

However, those sit ins weren’t enough to satisfy Jordan, who joined his friends Umphrey’s McGee the following night at Center Stage at The Landing in Peoria, IL. Jordan took the stage at the end of the first set for “Great American” and a cover of John Lennon and David Bowie’s “Fame.” He then returned during the middle of the second set for a “Much Obliged” that played into a take on Stevie Ray Vaughan’s instrumental classic “Lenny.”

Here’s a look at last night’s Umphrey’s McGee setlist via All Things Umphrey’s

Did Stanley have on his normal wig and makeup of the last few years, or was kris the only guy with a wig on stage? I saw Stanley and Kevin Eubanks play at my local pride parade. It was awesome to have on a dress and a boa jamming to two virtuosos in the middle of the parade. I have always heard about Chicago’s pride parade and know most of the organization is huge fans of the community. Even with Ryan moving do you think they will ever headline the Chicago Pride Parade? I would fly n for that raw stewage.
