The AmericanaramA tour rolled into Wilco’s homestate for a stop at Peoria, IL’s Chiefs Stadium yesterday. In addition to Wilco, the evening feature performances by Bob Dylan, My Morning Jacket and Richard Thompson Electric Trio.

Richard Thompson Electric Trio opened the night with a five-song set. Then, My Morning Jacket took the stage and kicked things off with this summer’s most consistently played song, “Circuital.” A little later in the night, the members of Wilco took the stage a bit early to join My Morning Jacket on a cover of George Harrison’s “Isn’t it a Pity.” The members of Wilco have already joined My Morning Jacket for the Harrison cover once this tour.

Wilco surprised every in attendance by opening the night with their first take on Doug Sahm’s “Give Back the Key to My Heart” since November 19, 1999. (Jeff Tweedy’s previous band Uncle Tupelo recorded a version of the song and Wilco covered the tune early on.) A little later in the night, Thompson returned to the stage to join Wilco on his own “Calvary Cross” and the Wilco arranged Woody Guthrie nugget “California Stars.”
Bob Dylan closed the night with his now standard, guest-free set.

AmericanaramA will move closer to Wilco’s epicenter with a performance at Bridgeview, IL’s Toyota Park this evening.
