Phish weaved Led Zeppelin’s “Heartbreaker” into a good chunk of their second set last night. The performance took place at Alpharetta, GA’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park just outside Atlanta.

The Vermont Quartet kicked off their show with a fairly standard first set, which opened with “Kill Devil Falls.” In contrast to the bust out-heavy setlists of recent summer tours, Phish has relied on—and refined—a steady rotation of songs this year, adding in a few wild cards each night. Last night’s first set included the summer’s first take on the Round Room epic “Pebbles and Marbles” and the first 2013 version of Rift nugget “Horn.” The rest of the first set primarily consisted of Phish classics like “Bathtub Gin,” “Rift,” “Possum,” “Cavern” and “Run Like an Antelope” as well as the latter day staple “Ocelot” and the revived Rift gem “Mound.”

However, Phish really let loose during their second set. The group opened with a take on The Velvet Underground’s “Rock and Roll” and moved into Phish’s first—albeit incomplete—cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Heartbreaker” since the band’s October 30, 2010 performance in Atlantic City, NJ. Phish moved away from “Heartbreaker” before the song was complete and segued into this summer’s first “Makisupa Policeman.” They continued to segue into “Chalk Dust Torture” and then, “Wilson,” where they teased the “Heartbreaker” theme for the second time. The “Heartbreaker” remained a running gag for the rest of the show, and Phish teased the Led Zeppelin number during an extended, jammed out “Tweezer,” “Harry Hood” and “Character Zero.” Most of the second set consisted of meaty segues, including an extended “Birds of a Feather” and, for the second time this summer, a “Silent in the Morning” that lacked its companion song, “The Horse.”

A cover of The Beatles’ “A Day in the Life” that moved into “Tweezer Reprise” closed the night. Phish will return to Alpharetta this evening.
