Jason Crosby Likely to Explore Grateful Dead, God Street Wine and Beck at Garcia’s

Jason Crosby and Bob Weir – photo by Stuart Levine

Fiddler/keyboardist Jason Crosby, who recently relocated to northern California, is back east with a two-night stand kicking off tonight in Port Chester, NY. Garcia’s at The Capitol Theatre will host Jason Crosby & Friends this evening and again on Friday. Crosby will be joined by God Street Wine guitarist Aaron Maxwell, drummer Rodney Holmes (Santana, Steve Kimock), bassist Chris Crosby, and guitarist Bill Titus. Since moving to Marin County, Crosby has performed with Bob Weir and Phil Lesh on a number of occasions and it is likely that he will revisit some of this material during these shows. He remains somewhat cagey about it though, as he tells Jambands.com, “We will be doing a mixture of our originals, some Beck Song Reader tunes and some other more familiar covers.” (Although he does hint at a potential Grateful Dead/Nirvana mash-up).

Heart-Shaped Box of Rain…................nice!!! but i do find the mash up odd , considering Kurt loathed the dead and wore a shirt in photos that said “kill the grateful dead” see attached http://cdn.pigeonsandplanes.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/nirvana-gd.gif
