Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews will release his new album, Say That to Say This, on September 10 via Verve Forecast. The 10-track release will be a follow up to his 2011 album, For True.

Interestingly, Say That to Say This features The Meters’ first studio recording since 1977. The band got together with Andrews and friend Cyril Neville for the ballad “Be My Lady,” which appears on the album.

Trombone Shorty will kick off a tour with his band Orleans Avenue this Saturday at the All Good Music Festival. The band will then make its way to the Central Park Summerstage in New York City on Monday. Soulive with The Shady Horns will co-headline the show, and Anders Osborne will open.
