Rhode Island’s The Low Anthem will return to the stage for the first time in almost a year for a performance at Brooklyn, NY’s Prospect Park Bandshell on Saturday. Florence Grace Wallis and Bryan “Destroyer Sheep” Minto will join The Low Anthem for their set. Since The Low Anthem last toured, the band has parted ways with longtime member Jocie Adams, who is focusing on a solo career.

A note from the band reads:

Rehearsal at the Columbus!!! It’s been nearly a year since we’ve played a show, but Saturday the 20th we’re back at Celebrate Brooklyn! for “the grand experiment.” Please tell your friends! It’s free. We are going to try an whole new body of songs, cuz life is too short.

Taking a year off playing has been miserable for us. Like clawless domesticated cats we’ve been floundering about eating cheetos and watching weeds grow. OOooolala we are so excited to sweat and wriggle again in the holy power of air pressure!!! Two new friends will be joining us for this show.

Florence Grace Wallis: English, poet, violinist, mystic, 21

Bryan “Destroyer Sheep” Minto: RI space-harmonica guru, 38, sculptor, jeweler

Sidenote: We will also find a pleasant grassy spot in the park to fly the Moth-machine so bring a blanket, sling a fiddle, do whatever you do and come enjoy the flying umbrella sculpture. It’s a mobile for kids of all ages.

if you’re allergic to strobe lights, be careful. the Moth-machine is a strobe-animated zoetrope.

Adams continues to tour under the name Arc Iris.
