John Medeski and Billy Martin are featured on a new, nearly nine minute track released to generate funds for sound engineer and producer Scott Harding’s recovery following his nearly fatal car accident in 2008.

While friends previously arranged The Scotty Hard Trust to aid in his recovery, the funds from that are nearly depleted, and Harding continues working his way back from a spinal chord injury. Harding worked on a number MMW albums including Combustication and The Dropper

The new track, “Party Hard (for Scotty Hard),” features Medeski, Martin, guitarist David Tronzo, tubist Marcus Rojas and saxophonist Michael Blake, who also produced the track.
The song was released simultaneously with NYC’s Music Frees All Festival, a three day benefit for Harding that took place from July 19-21.

“Party Hard (for Scotty Hard)” can be purchased for $1, though larger donations are also accepted.
