Woods Shares a Rainy Encore with Alex Bleeker

Woods returned home for a headlining performance at New York’s Bowery Ballroom on Saturday night. New York indie-jam acts Endless Boogie and Alex Bleeker & the Freaks split support duties. For their encore, Woods brought out Bleeker, who also plays bass in Real Estate and is signed to Woodsist records, for a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Have You Ever Seen The Rain?” (The collaboration took place at Midnight, the start of Bleeker’s birthday.) Their encore also included another rain-themed number, one of Woods’ signature songs “Rain On.” Drippy Eye Projections gave the entire evening the feel of an old-school Fillmore show.

Woods will kick off a European tour at Berlin, Germany’s Berghain Kantine on August 1 while Alex Bleeker & the Freaks will appear at Albany, NY’s Valentines on July 30. Real Estate will play one of the final shows at Hoboken, NJ’s Maxwell’s this evening.
