The country’s biggest outdoor arts festival is about to get a little bigger.

Burning Man has received a new four-year recreation permit that will stretch the capacity of the event to about 68,000. While the permit technically allows a maximum attendance of 70,000, organizers are aiming for a smaller cap than that. The new permit comes after the festival received a notice of non-compliance from the Bureau of Land Management in 2011 for exceeding their 50,000 person limit.

High demand for tickets to the annual gathering have forced Burning Man to experiment with a variety of new ticketing systems in recent years, which have angered some longtime Burners. There is no word yet on whether or not the new permit will lead to any changes in the ticketing process.
