The String Cheese Incident got a lot of help during their performance last night at Horning’s Hideout in North Plains, OR.

Guitarist Jeff Pevar, who joined the group for their Friday night show, took the stage once again for a take on The Weather Report’s “Birdland” during the first set. The second set then got started with the traditional Horning’s Hideout Ritual “Jam,” which featured a sit in from guitarist Scott Law.

The String Cheese Incident then brought on some interesting African instrumentation to spice up some tunes. Youssoupha Sidibe—who was at Horning’s Hideout with his band, The Mystic Rhythms—added his kora into the mix on “Betray the Dark.” The group also got some help during their cover of Talking Heads’ “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody),” with Chris Berry joining in on the mbira and Abou Diarrassouba sitting in on drums.

The String Cheese Incident will close out their Horning’s Hideout festival, and thus their summer tour, tonight. The band does not have any more shows scheduled until they head to the Interlocken Festival on September 5 and 6.
