Joan Osborne, Tedeschi Trucks Band and More Join The Black Crowes at Jones Beach

The Black Crowes returned to Wantagh, NY’s Jones Beach Ampitheatre on Saturday night as part of their co-headlining tour with Tedeschi Trucks Band. As has become customary, the members of Tedeschi Trucks Band joined The Black Crowes onstage during their encore. This time the entire band returned to the stage for a take on “Turn on Your Lovelight.” New York residents Joan Osborne and Tash Neal, who plays guitar in the evening’s opening act London Souls, also joined in on the song.

Members of The Black Crowes famously sat in with The Allman Brothers Band at Jones Beach the day Jerry Garcia died, just over 18 years to the day on August 9, 1995. The Black Crowes and Tedeschi Trucks Band’s co-headlining tour will continue at Indianapolis, IN’s Farm Bureau Insurance Lawn at White River tomorrow.

Tedeschi Trucks can do no wrong, are true masters and should have closed the show. The Crowes are impossibly self-indlugent and boring. They play 10 minute intros and outros to each song which does nothing but bore audiences to death. Jackie Greene is decent, but let’s all be honest, he doesn’t hold a candle to Luther. Also, Jones Beach / Livenation can eat a bag of sh*t for charging $50 JUST TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE BEER AREA. After you get in, beers are $14. So I’m spending $64 to drink one beer? Livenation – no one likes you and you’re criminals. Please go away forever please and thanks.

Jay~ Sounds like you got tickets to a show, that you had no idea who you were seeing; or you had just a bad time~ Anyway, Indianapolis will Rock and Roll at The Lawn Downtown Indy~ I would be surprised if the whole city doesn’t fill the streets. That goes for everyone playing tomorrow;)

I dig the crowes new sound and stage presence now that Chris has sobered up! I can appreciate what jay says, yes too much jamming can get a bit overwhelming. That’s why phish sucks even tho trey is a very talented musician, but too much of it is just obnoxious. I have to assume he just had a particularly bad show cause I’ve never suffered this issue with the crowes, Chris R being too fucked up to perform well, now that’s happened, however they sound great now that he’s sobered up!!! I do agree that the greed within the promoters is rediculous. I paid 32 dollars in service fees for lawn seats and the tickets print out on cheap printer paper at Walmart now so this fact is bullshit. Musicians need to make a point to correct this insanity or we as fans need to boycot your favorite show, a tough call to make but when the next pearl jam or Ben Harper show has all empty seats the problem will be addressed rather promptly.. Anywho….! Black crowes rock still to this day and 17 shows later and crazy high ticket service fees are bullshit and need to go!!

You guys are lucky to be able to see those jams live. If you can’t appreciate it, GTFO. This music is the best I’ve heard so far..
