Red Baraat Announce Fall Dates, India Shows

Red Baraat have announced a fall tour that will take them all the way to Bangalore, India before they make their way back to Brooklyn.

The band, which combines the bhangra rhythms of Northern India with elements of brass, funk and hip-hop, will kick off their tour in Milwaukee on August 27. The group will then play a few more Midwest shows before performing at Seattle’s Bumbershoot festival. They will then head to India for gigs in Mumbai and Bangalore on September 14 and 15. Red Baraat will then return to the United States, where they will play a number of shows on their way to the Austin City Limites Music Festival before wrapping up the tour back in the Northeast.

Red Baraat were profiled as a Relix On The Verge act back in 2010, and the magazine reviewed their debut album, Shruggy Ji, earlier this year.

These guys are the real deal. They absolutely had the crowd going crazy at 2 in the afternoon at hardly strictly bluegrass last year.
