Glens Falls, NY is hoping to promote some local restaurants with Phish-themed foods. PostStar.com is reporting that city officials have begun working with downtown restaurant owners to plan a week of culinary specials that will take place during the week of October 23, when the band is set to return to the Glens Falls Civic Center for the first time in 19 years.

As part of the promotion, restaurants will create recipes that include fish as an ingredient or they could come up with other creations that are made from ingredients that the band’s fans would enjoy. The goal is to make Phish fans feel welcome, as well as to generate publicity for the town.

Phish last performed at the Glens Falls Civic Center on Halloween 1994, when they covered The Beatles’ self-titled “White Album” and played for more than five hours. Tickets to the October 23 show have sold out.
