Sex Mob have confirmed a special three-night run at Brooklyn, NY’s Shapeshifter Labs. The group, which recently released a tribute to the soundtrack work of Nino Rota, will perform at Shapeshifter Labs from September 14-16. Led by slide trumpeter Steven Bernstein, Sex Mob’s current lineup includes Briggan Krauss (alto sax), Tony Scherr (bass) and Kenny Wollesen (drums).

The residency has been organized by the Search & Restore non-profit. A statement about the residency reads, “Search & Restore organizes concerts designed to make the artist and audience feel a part of something bigger, including co-producing the Winter Jazzfest, Undead Music, artist residencies at ShapeShifter Lab, and Nights of Improvised Round Robin Duets (the most recent presented at the Red Bull Music Academy). Search & Restore was founded in late 2007 by Adam Schatz. It has since grown into a 501©3 non-profit organization, committed to bringing the artists and audiences of new jazz and improvised music together in new ways, while never forgetting it’s DIY roots.”

Sex Mob’s support acts during their upcoming run include: Cuddle Magic (9/12), Thiefs (9/13) and Shilpa Ray (9/14).
