RatDog and Scaring the Children members Rob Wasserman and Jay Lane will join Michael McClure for another New Music performance in September. The trio gig is slated to take place at Bob Weir’s Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA on September 12

McClure, a founding member of the Beat Generation, gave his first poetry reading at age 22 at the legendary Six Gallery event in San Francisco, where Allen Ginsberg first read “Howl”. McClure has written twenty plays and musicals which are performed in the U.S. and abroad. His songs include, among others, the immortal “Mercedes Benz”, popularized by Janis Joplin. His most recent two collections of poetry are Mysteriosos and Other Poems (New Directions) and Of Indigo and Saffron: New and Selected Poems (University of California Press, 2010). His most recent CD was a collaboration with the Doors’ Ray Manzarek.
