Prince made another surprise appearance during New Power Generation’s residency show at the City Winery last night. He took the stage 3:15am following performances by special guests Cee Lo Green, Larry Graham, Alice Smith and Doug E Fresh.

Prince played an over two-hour set with NPG that included a few tracks from 1999 like “All the Critics Love U in New York, “Something in the Water (Does Not Compute)” and the album’s title tracks, as well as some of his The Family tunes like “Mutiny” and “Nothing Compares 2 U” (which was famously covered by Sinead O’Connor). He was even joined by an 11-piece horn section for “Courtin’ Time” and more. The show came to a close at 5:37am with an instrumental blues jam featuring Prince on guitar, Larry Graham on bass and 3rd Eye Girl members Donna Grantis and Hannah Ford on guitar and drums, respectively.

As previously reported, Prince joined NPG and his new backing band, 3rd Eye Girl, at the City Winery in New York City last Thursday night for another surprise performance.
