Widespread Panic guitarist Jimmy Herring sat in with The Allman Brothers Band at Alpharetta, GA’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre last night. Herring, who toured as a member of The Allman Brothers Band in 2000, emerged partway through the band’s extended set for “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed.” Later in the night, Southeast blues guitarist Tinsley Ellis emerged during The Allman Brothers Band’s encore for a version of “Feel Like Breaking Up Somebody’s Home.”

The Allman Brothers Band will perform at Virginia Beach, VA’s Farm Bureau Live on Wednesday while Widespread Panic will appear at Arrington, VA’s Lockn’ Festival this Saturday. Herring will also likely take part in an Aquarium Rescue Unit reunion on Sunday.
