Umphrey’s McGee and STS9 closed out their joint summer tour with a Labor Day weekend show at Vienna, VA’s Filene Center at Wolf Trap on Sunday night. Up Until Now opened the show, Umphrey’s McGee played second and STS9 closed the evening.
During Umphrey’s McGee’s set, guitarists Brendan Bayliss and Jake Cinninger strapped on their acoustic guitars for a version of “Susanah” (A song that originally was recorded for Bayliss’ 30db project.)

For most of their tour, Umphrey’s McGee and STS9 only opened their stages up for sit ins during their encores. However, during the past few nights, the collaborators have come earlier and more frequently. On Sunday, Bayliss emerged during STS9’s tour-closing set for “Moon Socket.” Then, at the end of STS9’s encore, the members of Umphrey’s McGee returned to the stage to help STS9 through a first-time cover of Bananarama’s “Cruel Summer.”

Umphrey’s McGee will open for Widespread Panic at Charleston, SC’s Family Circle Stadium on October 4 while STS9 will headline Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks Amphitheater on September 6.
