Jam Cruise 12 has added some additional acts, confirmed one of its theme nights and announced an official pre-party concert. The cruise’s latest artist additions are the polyrhythmic jazz project Skerik’s Bandlabra and former Cornmeal fiddler Allie Kral.

In addition, Jam Cruise has confirmed its first theme night, The Purple Night, which is billed as a “Royal Funk Affair.” A note from the cruise’s promoters reads, “Purple represents fantasy, mystery, and imagination, but this year purple takes on a whole new meaning as we celebrate life (and lifers). This year we wear purple, the color of Cystic Fibrosis Awareness, for one of our own – Stephanie Rath. Stephanie, a Jam Cruise lifer who has been bravely combatting this disease, has recently undergone a successful double long transplant . So break out your purple capes, high heels, sparkles, dresses and suits… Let’s purple-fy Jam Cruise 12 and celebrate this life we love.”

Finally, Jam Cruise has confirmed an official pre-party. On January 3, The New Mastersounds, Orgone, Suenalo and DJ Haitian Hillbilly will kick of the festivities with a show at Miami, FL’s Tobacco Road.

Jam Cruise will sail from January 4-9, featuring performances by Les Claypool’s Due de Twang, Thievery Corporation, Bootsy Collins, Galactic, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Lotus, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Keller Williams, Conspirator and many others. Warren Haynes will also play a special show on a private island during one of the cruise’s stops.
