The Black Crowes took the stage for a stellar show last night at Iron City in Birmingham, AL, just one day after the passing of Chris and Rich Robinson’s father Stan Robinson. The emotional performance featured plenty of classics like “She Talks to Angels,” “Wiser Time,” “Thorn in My Pride” and “Hush/Hard to Handle,” as well as a few bust outs, including a combination of “Evil Eyes” and Pink Floyd’s “Lucifer Sam”, “Title Song,” the first ever live take on “Lowdown” and “Ballad of Urgency.”

As previously reported, The Black Crowes cancelled their show in Fayetteville, AR and rescheduled their Birmingham gig following their father’s passing. The band posted a message on their Facebook page yesterday that read: “We sadly bid a final farewell to our loving father, Stan Robinson. The man who lived his entire life in Atlanta, GA left this earthly realm Tuesday afternoon on wings of pure love and with his sons by his side. We love you Dad.”
