Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy and Lucero have contributed the final two tracks in the Songs For Slim series, a non-profit project created to benefit former Replacements guitarist Slim Dunlap, who is recovering from a massive stroke suffered last year. Tweedy is joined by his son, Spencer, and others on Dunlap’s “Ballad of the Opening Band.” Meanwhile, Tennessee rockers Lucero put their spin on Slim’s classic “From the Git Go.”

The single will be limited to 250 copies, with each 7-inch beautifully packaged and hand numbered, signed by the artists and featuring original artwork from founding Replacements drummer Chris Mars.

The auction launches September 15 at 10 A.M. PST via SongsForSlim.com.
