Colorado newgrass quartet Head for the Hills will hit the road for nearly two months to support their newest studio album – Blue Ruin – on a fall tour that will carry the band through Colorado, the Midwest, Mulberry Mountain Harvest Festival, the Mountain West and the Pacific Northwest. The tour, which commences tonight in the group’s home state, will follow a busy summer that included stops at festivals RockyGrass, Northwest String Summit, DEL YEAH and many more.

Blue Ruin, which has charted on the CMJ Top 200, was released on July 9 of this year, and the official vinyl release of the album will be celebrated this Saturday, October 5 at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado.

In addition to a packed touring schedule and a new studio album, Head for the Hills contributed a track to the recently announced Colorado flood relief compilation, River’s Rising: Front Range Flood Relief alongside artists such as Furthur, Widespread Panic, Devotchka, String Cheese Incident, Bruce Hornsby, Umphrey’s McGee and many more.
